Ulla Filing

ParentPlus Pack™ is the brainchild of retired primary school teacher Ulla Filing, aged 41. Born in Finland but raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Ulla has resided in Perth for the past ten years. Married to husband Bruce for twelve years, they have two children, daughter Emily aged 11 and son Andrew aged 9.

Ulla has worked as a classroom teacher of junior years for eight years in Queensland then as a relief teacher for six years in Perth. The idea for ParentPlus Pack™ was born two years ago when, after experiencing feelings of guilt that she had not yet put a structured pocket money system into place for her children, Ulla placed a handwritten list of chores and positive behaviours on the fridge at home. The system proved such a success that it soon became evident that a program whereby children are required to earn their pocket money through positive behaviours could be of benefit to many families, particularly to those struggling to cope with the demands of raising children.

Ulla’s inspiration to develop ParentPlus Pack™ came about from her dedication to family life and essentially, the aim of the pack is to bring the family together and bring harmony to the home. The central focus of the pocket money system is on rewarding children for their good behaviour whilst at the same time deterring negative behaviours without the dramas that are usually associated with managing children’s misbehaviour. Children learn skills in managing money and decision making and parents work together as a united team using a simple but structured management plan.

ParentPlus Pack™ has been so well received during its launch phase and is set to expand as an exciting new development in the months to come.
